My Story
A warm welcome to my personal space
I’m opening up about my Year 13 boarding life at boarding school while dealing with a parent's drinking. This is a kind space for us to connect, share honest stories, and navigate these big life hurdles together.

The Year 13 Experience

Exams & Revision
My revision became a refuge. As long as I was buried in books, I could finally tune out the chaos waiting for me at home.
University Choices
Applying to the US and UK felt like a betrayal. I crave a fresh start overseas, yet I am petrified to leave them alone. Guilt heavy.
Friendships & Social Life
I avoided having friends over due to the chaos at home, but boarding school finally gives me my own safe space.
Life at Home
I've moved to my dad's to escape the chaos, yet secrecy remains. I hide this site from my mum, fearing her reaction to my raw truth.
What I’m Learning
I’m realizing this is far more frequent than it feels; we just don’t discuss it often.
Reflections & Growth
A collection of realizations and messages of hope from my own journey so far.
To Someone in My Shoes
This isn't your burden to carry alone. People will support you, and no one is judging your life.
What Still Feels Hard
Even now, leaving feels heavy with guilt. I worry I'll repeat these cycles with my own family one day. Sometimes I feel responsible for the pain left behind, like I've walked away from something I should have stayed to fix.
